Cougars sign local All-Star & MVP Matt Kment

The Sault College Men's Basketball team is excited to announce the commitment of Matt Kment for the upcoming 2019 - 2020 season. 

 

Matt comes to Sault College after a very successful career with the Korah Collegiate Colts. Matt is a 6'6 forward who helped lead the Colts 3 city championships and multiple NOSSA appearances. Matt is the 2x Rotary award winner for Men's Basketball, MVP of Sault Ste. Marie League as well as receiving multiple MVPs and All-Star Awards for tournaments throughout his career. 

 

Head Coach Pat Murray said "We are very excited to be having Matt joining our program. Matt's size and skill are going to be a great addition to our team going forward and Matt's work ethic is going to ensure a successful career at Sault College". 

 

Matt will be studying in the Pre-Health Program. Matt is the son of Cheryl and Leo and has two brothers, Brian and Jake, both recent graduates of Algoma University's Biology program. His brother Brian was a member of Sault College's National Championship winning Men's Hockey Team and Jake of the OHL's North Bay Battalion. Please join us in welcoming Matt to the Cougar family! 

 

We hope to see you out cheering on and supporting your local collegiate team and catch the exciting OCAA Basketball action on campus at the Health and Wellness Centre. The Cougars kick off the season on the road October 20th with the Home opener on November 9th.
