Men's and women's soccer end season on the road

Men's and women's soccer end season on the road

Men's and women's soccer faced Centennial College, George Brown College and Loyalist College on their final weekend.

Women's Soccer

In game one, the Centennial Colts opened the scoring seven minutes in and would add two more goals before the end of the first half. The Cougars were unable to get through the Colts defense and allowed two goals in the second half to make it a 5-0 final. Jayna Petigola stopped 11 of the 16 shots on net.

On Sunday afternoon, the Cougars kicked off against the Loyalist Lancers for their final game of the season. The Lancers opened the scoring in the first half, but first-year defenceman Brooke Brazeau found the top corner in the 61st minute to tie up the game. Unfortunately the Cougars ran out of steam and the Lancers netted two more goals before the final whistle.

Men's Soccer

The men's soccer team had similar results, recording two losses over the weekend against the Centennial Colts and George Brown Huskies.

In game one, the Colts opened the scoring eight minutes in, and found the net on four more shots. The Cougars had multiple scoring chances, but weren't able to get on the scoresheet.

In their last game of the season, the Cougars faced the 7-2-1 George Brown Huskies. The Huskies were an offensive threat, scoring five goals on 15 shots.

Alessandro Ciampagila stopped 16 of the 26 shots on net in the two games.

Despite the final results, both teams showed significant improvement over the course of the season.
