Bascoe, Barsanti named Sault College Freshii Athletes of the Week

Men's soccer player Rushawn Bascoe and women's hockey player Olivia Barsanti were named Sault College's Freshii Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 16, 2022.

Bascoe, a second-year forward from Chatham, Ont., studying Police Foundations, led by example during the last two games of the season for the Cougars. Bascoe created multiple scoring chances for his team, including a penalty kick and connected with the crossbar off a free kick.

Barsanti, a fourth-year forward from Bowmanville, Ont., studying Nursing, led the Cougars in points on opening weekend, recording five goals and two assists in two games. Her strong offensive presence was instrumental in the women's hockey team scoring 21 goals over the weekend.
