Gallivan, Winsor named Sault College Freshii Athletes of the Week

Men's baseball player Carter Gallivan and men's soccer player Dylan Winsor were named Sault College's Freshii Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 24, 2023.

Gallivan, a first-year pitcher from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., studying Business Administration, threw six innings against the Lambton Lions, giving up only 2 hits and 1 run on 83 pitches. This led the Cougars to their victory over the Lions, and Gallivan is now tied for fifth in the OCAA for the lowest earned run average (2.05).

Winsor, a first-year goalkeeper from Thunder Bay, Ont., studying Graphic Design, has faced a lot of shots this soccer season and continues to make a significant number of saves each game. Winsor is leading the OCAA with 102 saves, 55 saves ahead of the second-place keeper.
