Rainey, Jacques named Sault College Freshii Athletes of the Week

Men's baseball player Travis Rainey and men's hockey player Jackson Jacques were named Sault College's Freshii Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 8, 2023.

Rainey, a first-year Pre-Trades and Technology student from Brampton, Ont., had 3 hits in the final double-header of the season, including a double and one walk to help the Cougars gain a split against the Sheridan Bruins.

Jacques, a first-year defenseman from Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, Man., in the Motive Power Technician program, has been a versatile defenseman for the Cougars and logged significant minutes in all three games over the weekend. Jacques scored two goals in the Cougars' 5-2 win over Davenport on October 7th, bringing his total to four points in five games.
