Lecours, Jacques Named Sault College Freshii Athletes of the Week
Women’s hockey player Marie-Pier Lecours & Men’s hockey player Jackson Jacques have been named Sault College’s Freshii Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 28, 2024.
Lecours, a 3rd year Forward from Sault Ste. Marie, ON studying Psychology was a standout this past weekend against Miami (OH). Lecours opened her weekend in style with a 6-point night, (0G, 6A) recording her 100th career point as a Sault College Cougar! In the second game of the weekend, she recorded an additional 4 points (1G, 3A) to cap off her 10-point weekend. Lecours also won 83% of her faceoffs. Way to go M-P!
Jacques, a 1st year defenseman from Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, MB, pursuing a career as a Motive Power Technician led the Cougars from the backend over the past weekend in a 2-game set against Concordia University Wisconsin. Jackson finished the weekend with 2 points (1G, 1A), while being a catalyst in the Cougars thrilling 6-5 shootout victory on Friday night. Great work Jackson!
