Men's Hockey caps Seniors Night with a Win!

The Sault College Cougars Men’s hockey team hosted the Davenport University Panthers on Sunday afternoon for their Senior’s Night & Mike Hall Recognition night.

The seven seniors from the Cougars being honoured were: Jordan Ritchie, Mateo Perri, Keaston Blais, Jon Tagoona, Zach Tarantini, Michael Chaffay & Kyle Finateri. Ethan Esposito got the party started 9 minutes into the first period to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead. The Panthers would respond 20 seconds later to tie the game at 1-1, and it would remain that way into the first break. Ethan Novello scored midway through the second period to give the Cougars a 2-1 lead before a pair of seniors (Chaffay & Perri) scored in the final 2 minutes of the period to extend the lead to 4-1. Esposito would add 2 more in the 3rd as the Cougars won their regular season finale 8-1. Chaffay finished the night with 3 points (1G, 2A), while Nick Jameus led the team offensively with 4 points (0G, 4A). Zach Tarantini won his final regular season start of his Cougars career, turning aside 21 of 22 shots he faced.

The Cougars will now prepare for their Regional playdowns as they vie for a spot at Nationals!
