Cougars Varsity Athletics announce flurry of Signings!

Sault College Cougars Athletics teams had a busy April as they locked in several new recruits for the upcoming season.

The busiest varsity team was Men’s hockey, as they secured 7 new players for the upcoming season. With 5 players out of the NOJHL: Cemeron Lemcke (Powasson VooDoos), Liam McDonald (Espanola Paper Kings), Michael Starzomski (Soo Eagles), Givan Disano (Blind River Beavers) and Jake Kovacs (Blind River Beavers) and 2 from the St. Mary’s Knights of the Sault Ste. Marie High School Hockey League – Anthony Blonda & Daniel Guzzo, the Cougars are poised to take a step forward next season as they set their sights on a spot at Nationals.

The Women’s Varsity hockey team made 4 additional signings after already committing to Hayden Dunn (Belmont Blazers U18 AAA) and Danika West (North Bay Jr. Lakers U18 AAA) by bringing in Taryn Sullivan (Belmont Blazers U18 AA), Lily Wallsmith (Delta Hockey Academy), Matea Glavota (Soo Jr. Greyhounds U18 AA) and Kate Jacques (Sudbury Lady Wolves U18 AA). The Cougars will look to continue their success as back-to-back ACHA DII National Champions with the addition of the strong recruiting class.

Men’s baseball announced the commitment of Brooks Aylward, Second Baseman/Shortstop for the 2024-2025 season. Aylward last competed with the Thunder Bay Lakers.

Keep an eye on Sault College Athletics social channels for all their recent signings as they prepare for the 2024-2025 seasons!
