Bio

Cody McClelland was born and raised into a sports family in Sault Ste. Marie.  He had the love for hockey instilled in him at a young age as he grew up watching his brother and cousin compete at high levels. Cody also had dreams of playing competitively, however his dream was put on hold and eventually ended as he was diagnosed with a kidney disease in which he needed a transplant. 

Cody never let his health deteriorate his passion for hockey. He joined the Soo Jr. Greyhounds coaching staff as an assistant coach for three years at the U14 AAA, U15 AAA, and the U18 AAA levels. Cody has great knowledge for the game of hockey, and continues to grow as a coach, evidenced by his attendance at numerous coaching seminars and conferences. His outlook on life and his passion for hockey has been an inspiration to many young athletes that have had the privilege of working with him. 

Cody will be the Assistant General Manager and Student Success Coach for the Sault College Cougars. His life changing experiences, education, and passion for helping people reach their potential will be a great asset for the men’s hockey program.
