Mackenzie Monico, coming off a good performance last weekend added to her scoring streak as she scored before the end of the frame to even the game at 1-1.

Monico and the Cougars would keep it rolling in the second with a goal from Ashleigh Wiwchar early in the period and a second goal by Monico to put the Cougars up 2-1 heading into the third.

A quick goal by Rachel Barban extended the Cougars lead, but was answered almost immediately by Michigan State to keep it close. A couple minutes later a pair of quick back to back goals by Kaitlyn Lambert-Mousseau and Olivia Barsanti would send the Cougars home with a 6-1 win in game one.
