Cougars can't keep up with the Eagles

On Novemeber 3rd & 4th the Cougars took on the UTM Eagles in OCAA MBB action. Saturday's contest saw the Cougars and eagles battle for control in the game. They Cougars started of the scoring with a layup by Sheldon Goulbourne, however UTM was quick to responed growing a lead of 13 - 5. This did not dishearten the Cougars as the bounced back to a 17 -16 first quarter. In the second quarter Jimmy Thai and Andrew O'Brien stepped up providing the Cougars with 13 of their 17 points in the quarter, however the Cougars trailed by a single point going into the third quarter. The Cougars came out of halftime slow despite the effort of Sheldon, lossing the quarter 24 - 13. With the game still in reach the Cougars tried to claw their way back, the Cougars eventually fell short of their goal lossing to UTm 86 - 69.

The next day the UTM Eagles came out swinging starting off the gam with an 8 - 0 run. The Cougars dug themselves a large hole in the first quarter lossing 23 - 6, Coach Brown rallied the players between quarters, but wasn't successful in his efforts. At half time the Cougars were down 52 - 22, rallying behind their coaches the Cougars came out and won the third quarter 22 - 20, however the balanced scoring from the Eagles proved to much for the Cougars to handle, eventually losing the game 90 - 59 despite their improved performance in the second half.

The Men's team is back in action this weekend as they travel to Lambton College to take on the Lions November 10th & 11th. You can catch all OCAA games on the OCAA website.
