Cougars take on the Royals
The Redeemer Royals travelled to Sault Ste. Marie to take on your Sault Cougars. The Royals who came in with a record of 3 – 2 looked to extend their 3 game winning streak.
The first game was held Friday November 16th in the Health and Wellness Centre with the tip off starting at 8:00pm. The first quarter saw the Royals take a commanding lead with a 22 – 5 score, the Cougars started to play in the second quarter scoring 19 points to the Royals 21. Coming out of half the cougars played the Royals close with a 17 – 18 score line. However in the Final Quarter the Royals were able to score 29 points to the Cougars 19. The Cougars fell to the Royals 90 – 66, due to the slow start.
On Saturday the Cougars were set for a rematch with the Royals, but the Royals were ready to play. The Cougars had a stronger first quarter which ended with a Royals lead of 24 – 10. However the Royals figured out the Cougars and were able to shut them off the scoreboard all game, limiting the Cougars to 39 points for the whole game. The Royals controlled game to for a victory of 98 – 39.
This year has been a rebuild year for the Cougars as the roster contains only 2 returning players, the Cougars look to build on what they have learned in the first semester of action, as the take on the Niagara Knights this weekend. The games are Saturday November 24th 8:00pm and Sunday November 25th 3:00pm, we hope you come out and support your Cougars.
