Cougars are defeated by the Mountaineers

Over the weekend the Men's Basketball team traveled to Hamilton ON, to take on the Mohawk Mountaineers. Friday Jan 18th saw both teams take to the court at 8pm, the first quarter saw a competitive game as the score ended 26 – 28 for the Mountaineers.  At the start of the second quarter the clock malfunctioned, leading to a 5 minute stoppage in play. Once the game resumed the Mountaineers came out hot scoring 40 points in the second quarter to the Cougars 18. After halftime both teams didn't miss a step as they kept on pace with their respective previous quarter points, as the Mountaineer were able to put up a total of 69 points in the second half to the Cougars 38. Notable performances from the Cougars included Jimmy Thai who lead the team in scoring with 22 points; Kevon Clarke who in his first OCAA game score 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds; and Jacob Lamontange who provided 14 points for the Cougars.

The Cougars were all set to take on the Mountaineers on Saturday Jan 19th for their second game however the game was postponed until further notice.

The Cougars are back in action this weekend as they travel to London, ON. to take on the Fanshawe Falcons Saturday Jan 26th and Sunday Jan 27th. Both games will be livestreamed at: http://fanshawetv.ca/live/
