Hawks soar past the Cougars

Hawks soar past the Cougars

February 2nd 2019 Sault College Cougars vs. Humber Hawks

The Humber Hawks came to town this past weekend, February 2nd the number 1 ranked team Hawks came to the Sault to show why they are ranked first. The first game proved that the Hawks outmatched the Cougars as they got off to a soaring lead 66 – 32 at halftime. Head coach Aaron Brown tried to rally the team, but unfortunately the team was not able to respond, which saw the Hawks score another 64 points in the second half. The Cougars lost the first game 130 – 55.

The second game again saw the Hawk storm out of the gate scoring 24 unanswered points, and getting to a 34 – 12 lead after ten minutes, at halftime coach Brown tried to rally the team for a second day in a row, this time it worked as Cougars were able to win the third quarter 19 - 15 and overall played better than the Hawks that quarter, but due to the large lead the Hawks achieved, the Cougars couldn't surpass the Hawks eventually losing 129 – 58.

Stephen Miller had a great weekend scoring 46 points almost half of the Cougars points on the weekend. The men's team travel to Kitchener to take on the Conestoga Condors.
