Cougars Pouncing over the Finish Line at the OCAA Championship

On October 27, Centennial College welcomed and hosted 20 colleges that participated in the 2018 OCAA Cross Country Championships presented by belairdirect at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus Athletic Fields.

There three women ran under the Sault College Cougars' banner Hilary Ireton (29.53.00), Emily Pollard (34.05.5), and Hunter-Jane Mills (37.49.4). Hilary had a good result finishing with an under 30 minutes time while both Emily and Hunter-Jane ran good races stated Pat Vardy the Cross Country head coach.

In the men's race the Sault College Cougars had four athletes participating, Andrew Budau (31.53.2), Bradley Niendorf (32.21.1), Tejasvi Sharma (32.36.6), and Aidan McDiarmid (36.25.8). The first of the Cougar men finished 5.09 minutes behind the first place finisher. Vardy said "The guys all finished the race strong and looked composed, through the final stages of the race."

Pat is excited for next year as many of the Cougars are rookies this year, and will build into a strong team next year.
