Cougars Varsity Athletics May Recap!
The Sault Cougars men’s hockey team looked to round out the roster with the signing of Blind River Beavers (NOJHL) forward Piper Post. Post played in 31 games with the Beavers last season, notching 6 goals and 11 points.
The Sault College Cougars women’s hockey program added 3 more commitments to their roster, with local player Annika Babineau (Soo Jr. Greyhounds U18 AA), Payton Stos from Lively, ON (Sudbury Lady Wolves), and Grayson Holland (King Royals) from Keswick, Ontario adding skill and speed both upfront and on the blue line.
Men’s Baseball announced their first recruit from a successful recruiting visit down to Colombia, adding Diego Martinez Elizondo from the Baseball Elite Internacional Panteras as an outfielder with a strong arm to shore up the defensive side of the game. Diego will join Sault College in the fall when he says goodbye to his hometown of Puebla, Mexico.
The newest addition to Sault College Cougars Varsity sports – Women’s Volleyball – was excited to announce the hiring of their head coach Becky Grisdale. Becky is a stalwart in the local Sault Ste. Marie volleyball community, as the founder of Steel City Ignite volleyball and numerous championships and accolades through the Ontario Volleyball Association.
