Bio

Steve joined the Athletic Department in 1999 and has over 30 years’ experience in the fitness industry. He was a key contributor on the college committee that brought the 9-million-dollar Health & Wellness Centre to life in 2013.

Steve currently supervises the campus fitness centre and gymnasiums. As Fitness & Facilities Coordinator, he leads his team to ensure that all students, staff, and members of the community have safe and welcoming facilities to improve their health and wellness while taking part in various activities. In addition to his role as Fitness & Facilities Coordinator, Steve has been an assistant coach with the men’s baseball team since it’s inaugural season in 2022.

A native of Sault Ste. Marie, ON., Steve has volunteered with Hockey Canada committees for major events including the Memorial Cup and TELUS Cup as well as assisted Slo-Pitch Ontario with numerous provincial championships. He has also coached basketball at the OBA, high school, and college level.  Steve is currently a coach in the Soo Black Sox rep baseball program.

  • Graduate of Laurentian University with a degree in Physical & Health Education
  • Graduate of Sault College with a diploma in Massage Therapy
  • Ontario Fitness Council Certified RHEP-TFL, CSEP-CPT, CanFitPro-PTS, EIMC Exercise Practitioner, Heart Wise Exercise certified
