Bio

Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ryan played his youth baseball in Sault Ste Marie in the Soo Minor Baseball organization and Soo Black Sox program. Johns played collegiate baseball at Brock University winning 2 Canadian championships before going on to pitch in the inter-county baseball league for the Barrie Baycats.  

After his playing career finished, Johns began coaching at Brock University as a pitching coach after graduating while also coaching high school baseball in St. Catharine's as a head coach. After returning to Sault Ste. Marie, Ryan served as a pitching coach and as the head coach in the Soo Black Sox organization. He was also selected to serve as the head coach for Team North in the Ontario Summer Games. 

Johns has been a part of the Sault College Baseball Program since the inaugural season in 2022 as the pitching coach.
